"Arte per Acqua"

Arte per Acqua is a project that I formed to support with my Art the Association "Islamic Shelter e.V." to build wells in Ghana (Africa).

Background:

Most of the year prevails water shortages in Ghana.
In the countryside, the people provide them self with water from tarns that get formed during the rainy season. Women and children have to walk often many miles to fetch a few litre of brackish water for drinking and cooking.

Health:

If the water availability and - quality continues to diminish, people will be forced to use even contaminated water for their purposes. This can be especially fatal to children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weak immune Systems.

With my project "Arte per Acqua",

shall be financed the construction of wells in Ghana to offer these people a better supply of water and thus a better quality of life, better hygiene and health conditions, bi idhnillaah.

Please help me to help!

How it works:

  • Purchase one of my paintings and support with your purchase this project, because 20% of the painting-prize (less fees for shipment ) will be invested in the construction of wells.
  • In case you wanna help without purchasing a painting, you have also the possibility to donate directly to the Project.

By this way I would like to remind you for following Hadith:
"When a man dies, he is separated (by merit) of his deeds, except in three (cases): a Sadaqah that continues (Sadaqa dscharija), knowledge that benefits, and an upright descendant who prays for him. " [Muslim]

To construct one fountain we need 800,-Euro.

Current Balance: 311,- €

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need more information about this Project.

Sadaqa Dscharija
What is Sadaqah dscharija?
The word Sadaqah comes from the Arabic and means " truthfully "or “being upright“. It also refers to a charitable and voluntary duty. The Sadaqa brings the Muslim closer to God and Paradise, and he gets a multiple reward from God, if he had the right (upright) Niyah (intention).

Dscharija also comes from the Arabic and means "continuing” or "fluent". The Sadaqa dscharija means therefore a "continuing Donation" and is a special form of Sadaqah.

The most famous hadith (tradition, plural: Ahadith), that mentions this type of Sadaqah is the following:

<<The Prophet Muhammad (peace and Blessings bei upon him) said analogous: "If a person dies, he is separated (by merit) of his actions, except in three (cases): a Sadaqah that continues (Sadaqa dscharija), knowledge that brings benefits, and an upright descendant who prays for him "(Muslim).>>

The Muslim scholars conclude that the deeds of a human finish with his death and after death no more reward will be counted, except in the three cases described. Because for all three cases the deceased has laid the foundation: He has raised the upright offspring, he has written and spreaded a useful knowledge, and he donated the Sadaqa dscharija.
For this kind of deeds that the Muslim accomplishes during his lifetime, he will get the reward after his death, as they continue to bear fruits. The special of Sadaqa dscharija is, therefore, that it enables the Muslim even after his death to come closer to God and Paradise. Cause the merit of his "continuing donation " continues “flowing” into the book of his good deeds.

What can be donated?

In the following Hadith the Prophet (peace and Blessings be upon him) mentions a few examples of Waqf: "Among the deeds and acts that reachs the believer after his death is knowledge, that he passed to someone else and spreaded, a faithful (upright) offspring, a Exemplar of Qur’ân that he bequeath to someone, a mosque that he builded, a harbourage for the son of the way, a water that he brought to flow and a Sadaqa that he gave from his wealth when he was still alive and by good health and that reaches him after his death.” Ibn Majah).

Donations in the name of deceased:

It is also possible, for example, that children donate something in the name of their deceased parents, so that the rewards for this donations will come to the best of their parents, whereby as well the donor receives a reward. Sa'd Ibn Ubada said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Messenger of God! ? Umm Sa'd has died, which is therefore the most deserving Sadaqa (which I can donate for her), "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said " water ". Than he dug a well and said: " This is for Umm Sa 'd "(Abu Dawud).
